Lely Group HQ, Maassluis, Netherlands
Lely Industries provides innovative solutions for livestock breeders. The group's new offices in Maassluis in the Netherlands combine sustainability, functionality and class. Architect Machiel Hopman made glass a central focus of this project. Pyropane glass is used in the facades to contain the spread of fire and reduce the risk of falls. Its acoustic and thermal properties as well as its availability in large dimensions were key factors behind the decision to opt for Pyropane.
The site's 75,000 m² exterior is inspired by agricultural environments and farms. The complex consists of three elongated parts, comprising the offices (10,300 m2), and a production facility. In 2014, it was awarded a BREEAM NL Outstanding rating, the highest sustainability score, marking it out as the most sustainable industrial site in Europe.
