The new benchmark for sustainable fire-resistant glass: Low-Carbon Pyrobel - EPDs now available
We are proud to announce the availability of third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for our Low-Carbon Pyrobel fire-resistant glass as well as for standard Pyrobel glass.
Reducing the environmental impact of our production processes, in line with AGC’s roadmap towards carbon neutrality, is a strategic priority. Low-Carbon Pyrobel glass combines trusted fire-resistance performance with a significantly reduced carbon footprint.
In total, 16 official EPD declarations are now published on the INIES platform, covering several Pyrobel product families in both standard and low-carbon versions, for stock sizes and cut sizes.
Low-Carbon Pyrobel glass achieves significant reductions in GWP (CO₂ eq/m²) compared to standard products, making Low-Carbon Pyrobel the benchmark fire-resistant glass range for embodied carbon values.
Product | Stock Size (kg CO2 eq/m²) Standard → Low-Carbon * | Cut-size (kg CO2 eq/m²) Standard → Low-Carbon * |
Pyrobelite 10 | 31.2 → 19.3 (-38 %) | 39.1 → 24.1 (-38 %) |
Pyrobel 16 | 50.6 → 31.7 (-37 %) | 62.4 → 39.6 (-37 %) |
Pyrobel 25 | 79.0 → 52.1 (-34 %) | 99.7 → 66.9 (-33 % |
* Those values are cradle to gate (A1-A3)
