Sustainable materials for Venlo City Hall
Kraaijvanger Architects applied the Cradle to CradleTM philosophy in designing the City Hall (Stadskantoor) in Venlo (Netherlands). In that spirit, they used only natural and upcyclable materials, such as AGC's Cradle to Cradle Certified glazings. AGC supplied more than 8,000 m2 of glass, including 170 m2 of Pyropane.
The idea was to create a natural environment for the administrative space, including meeting rooms, offices, a public lobby, exhibition spaces, a car park and a garage for bicycles. However, the most impressive part of the building is undoubtedly the green facade, the largest of its kind in the world!
